It’s been long time since significant update appeared in the outstanding program; the developer stuff’s reorganisation dragged out. Nevertheless, you can try out MoBu for free now. 30-Day trial is now available for downloading with a complete set of samples.
You can dounload MoBu here
Having looked through the new version of the product I was quite satisfied with it. Frankly speaking, I expected something more, especialy as for working with MoCap.
Anyway i’ve payed attention to the following:
actor_face – the set of markers for reading from a face has been supplemented. Its presence in the program is obviously great, on the one hand, but it isn’t enough though to meet up-to-date requirement to a face animation, on the other hand.
char_face – there are quite interesting scenes in the samples including rigs that work in real time. For example, a character watches mouse’s movings, breathes and even talks when pressing “play” (the character can also be made talk using microphone)
Voice Reality 3.5 – good news: an engine for phoneme recognizing has been updated.
HIK intergration (constraint) – In my opinion, that’s clever move. Now your own compiled constrait can be used as a skeleton solver.
Unfortunately, only those, who buy HumanIK middleware will have the oportunity to use this plug-in.
Python- Here is major alteration. Integration with the environment has been improved. What I especially liked is that user interface functionality has appeared. If only there was some sort of an editor for handy and fast building of elements of the user interface.
Dynamics - a solver for rigid body and for reg- doll has appeared. This might be useful thing, but I haven’t had enough time to test it yet, but I have to say that the video demonstration seemed to me somehow drily and lifeless…
